The units highly sensitive motion detector, allows a wide range of special modes, allowing automated tracking, without having to request a location by the PDA. The tracker has a multitude of functions, but in its basic mode, on continuously, it lasts about 5 days, and will respond to a location request from the Pocket PC, giving the position of the unit down to a few metres, anywhere in the world. - journey mode - automatically give locations when the tracker starts moving and after it has stopped for a while.
- tracking mode - expands on the journey mode and sends a location at fixed intervals during the journey.
- panic mode - the tracker will send a location at regular intervals even when not moving.
The unit can be told to turn of whilst stationary, greatly increasing the battery life, but not responding to location requests whilst stationary. There is no need to rely on third party servers, the PDA and Tracker communicate directly to each other. No internet connection, no PCs, guarantee privacy. The tracker comes complete with an internal rechargeable battery, charging up quickly in a 2 - 3 hours. Running costs are simple, for every location requested its the cost of two text messages - the one sent by the PDA to request the location, and the subsequent one sent by the tracker identifying its position. The PDA reports the credit remaining on the tracker, so you don't get caught out. The PDA unit is a complete standalone unit, allowing tracking of an unlimited number of trackers, interfacing directly to a fully integrated street level mapping system. So tracking units can be located instantly and easily. The software also stores a history of all the locations passed, making it possible to look backwards and see where the tracker was on a previous day.
